Livestream Engineer
Sideshow is seeking a highly skilled Livestream Engineer to manage the technical aspects of live streaming and pre-recording multicamera-based productions. In this role, you will oversee the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of Sideshow's livestreaming equipment and software to ensure smooth, high-quality, and uninterrupted broadcasts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of live production workflows and a passion for delivering an exceptional viewing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee technical aspects of live streaming production from setup to broadcast.
Operate and maintain livestreaming hardware, including cameras, encoders, switchers, audio equipment, livestreaming software, and cabling.
Troubleshoot and assist with any technical issues in real-time during livestream events.
Collaborate with Multimedia team to ensure video, audio, and graphics integrate seamlessly.
Work with and make full use of different live streaming and broadcasting software.
Work with different streaming platforms (e.g., YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and ensure proper configuration and monitoring.
Create pre-event testing plans for the Production team to ensure all systems are functioning properly prior to going live.
Monitor video and audio quality during live events and work with the Production team to adjust as needed.
Provide post-event analysis.
Curate and archive all content for use as post-show deliverables as required.
Stay up to date on current livestreaming trends from a hardware/software perspective and offer advice on ways to fine-tune the setup.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of proven experience as a Livestream Engineer or similar technical role in live production.
Strong knowledge of video production equipment, including cameras, video switchers, and encoders.
Familiarity with streaming software and platforms (e.g., OBS, vMix, Streamlabs, Wirecast, Streamyard).
Solid understanding of audio systems and mixing for live events.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly during a live event.
Experience with remote productions and live-event setups.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with creative and technical teams.
Bonus Qualifications:
Experience with Project Management software as a user.
Geeky interests are not required, but are a huge plus!
